VESSEL
The first thing to do to know the meaning of the term vessel is to begin by discovering its etymological origin. In this case, we can say that it is a word that derives from Latin, since it is the result of the sum of these two elements of that language:
-The noun “vasum”, which can be translated as “container”.
-The suffix “-ija”, which is used as a diminutive.

A bowl is a concave element that is often used to serve food , whether solid or liquid. These pieces are also used for decorative purposes and to store different types of objects.
For example: "When I arrived at the refuge, they offered me a pot with chickpea soup" , "The young man hid the money in a pot and left the place" , "The aborigines used to collect pearls and then wash them in jars with water ” .
The man vessels manufactured since over 12,000 years , according to what can be inferred based on various archaeological finds. Many ancient peoples who dominated pottery made clay or earthenware vessels . There were also, throughout history, metal vessels , stone vessels , ceramic pots , plastic pots and others.
In general it can be said that a vessel is any container that has the capacity to contain something . There are even improvised pots or pots created from elements that were not born as pots: if a person is in charge of hollowing out a watermelon , they can use the fruit as a pot.
It is interesting to know that there are different types of vessel classifications, although among the most historically and artistically significant is the one that classifies them as follows:
-Tubular vessel, which, as its name suggests, is shaped like a tube.
-Belliform vessel, which has a structure similar to that of an inverted bell. This is so important that it even gave shape to the so-called bell-shaped vase culture, which developed in the Chalcolithic. Objects of this type that prove their value have been found in Great Britain, Hungary and even the Iberian Peninsula. In this, specifically, the most significant have been found in towns such as Carmona or Ciempozuelos.
-The stem vessel known as a bowl, which has its origin in Prehistory.
-The vessel that works as a potty, that is, as a urinal.
It should not be forgotten that, throughout history, there are different civilizations that have used the vessel as a funerary element. This would be the case, for example, in Ancient Greece where it was used as an ossuary or even as a place where the oils that were established as an offering to the deceased were stored.
One of the most famous vessels in the world is the Portland Vessel , a piece that would have been manufactured in the Roman Empire during the 1st century . Made of glass and decorated with a representation of divinities and human beings , this vessel is on display at the British Museum in London .
The Warrior Vessel , on the other hand, is in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens . It was made in the twelfth century before Christ and shows several soldiers.
