SWAY
Swinging is called the movement that something performs when, after completing a journey, it retraces its steps and returns to travel the journey in the opposite direction. For example: "He was observing the swing of the clock's pendulum for long minutes, abstracted from those around him" , "He struck the sandbag for the last time and left without looking at its swing" , "The swing of the trees, product of the wind, scared the girl ” .

The sea makes a typical back and forth movement. With each wave that reaches the shore, the sea advances on the sand, but then recedes. In this way, in view of the person who is located on the beach , the sea moves back and forth.
Continuing with the theme of the sea, the process known as desalination consists of removing the salt from its water, and for this desalination plants are used , thanks to which human beings get drinking water , so necessary for life.
One of the great problems of desalination is its high cost, and for this reason many researchers do not rest in their search for increasingly cheaper alternatives. Such is the case of Chris Matthews and Justin Sonnett, two students from the University of North Carolina, who in 2015 presented a project for a desalination plant that needs nothing more than the rocking of the waves to function .
The name of this system is SAROS , short for Swell Acuated Reverse Osmosis System , and it was conceived to assist those who cannot access fresh water. This salinizer is small in size, and this makes it easy to move and locate in different areas of the sea , since it only requires the aforementioned swaying of water to operate.
Regarding the structure of SAROS, it consists of buoys at its base that allow it to float, and a pendulum that moves with the swaying of the waves and feeds a propulsion system thanks to which the water is subjected to a high pump. pressure by a reverse osmosis membrane. Finally, the drinking water produced is stored in tanks until it is extracted.
It is important to note that conventional desalination plants require a large amount of electrical energy to operate, while SAROS manages to generate the energy from the water itself, and this particularity makes it a highly respectful creation of the environment and convenient from a point of view. from an economic point of view. If we add its self-sustaining nature to its small size, we understand that we are faced with an accessible and convenient system .
The notion of reciprocating is also used with reference to the instability , oscillation or fluctuation of a thing. In this case, the idea of swaying is associated with something negative since the lack of stability implies a risk: "The ups and downs of the economy worry the citizens" , "I hope that we will soon overcome this sway and that we return to the path of growth" , "Since we got married, our relationship went through several ups and downs . "
Take the case of the economy of two countries. If, in country X , the Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ) grew by 8% in 2011 , 5% in 2012 , 7% in 2013 and 6% in 2014 , the national economy showed stability in those years. On the other hand, in country Z , GDP grew 1% in 2011 , fell 3% in 2012 , rose again by 2% in 2013 and fell 6%in 2014 : that is why it can be said that the economy showed a worrying sway.
Life is full of ups and downs, in all its aspects, from the emotional plane to the financial situation, and we must face them with courage and maturity in order to move forward. In the best of cases, the experience that the numerous battles give us prepare us to diminish more and more the impact of these twists and turns.
